•Cable Laying Machine may consist in :
◦a drum capstan associated with 2 to 6 pairs tyre DO/HB engine (Draw Off - Hold Back)
◦a multipair (9 to 24 wheel pairs) for an on-line pulling.
•Both Type of above engines are fully driven by IP56 electrical AC motors associated with high accuracy frequency converters :
◦The capstan is driven by 4 to 6 motors with 2 to 3 frequency converter for a high level of redundancy.
◦Each wheel pair (2 AC motors) is driven by 1 frequency converter.
•The capstan may work either in speed control or in tension control.
•The machines are designed to work non-stop 24 hours a day during several weeks.
•Capstan and DO/HB can work either synchronized or individually.
•Each pair of the DO/HB is fully synchronized in both speed and torque with the others. They can individually be opened or closed during running.
•The cable is guided all along the multipair engines by the wheel pinching and several guiding rollers.
•The complete laying machinery may be associated with a computerized monitoring system.
